White Oak Middle School is teaming up with J-STAR Ministries (Patrick Johnson frequently works with our school district) to send supplies to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. We are collecting the following items through Friday:
Baby formula, diapers, wipes
Personal Hygiene items- soap, shampoo, toilet paper, feminine products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair brushes
Bleach, trash bags, gloves
Please drop items off in our office. Thank you so much for your help!
Beginning September 1, 2017:
- It is an offense for an operator to use a portable wireless communication device:
To read, write, or send an electronic message while operating a motor vehicle unless the vehicle is stopped. (Section 545.4251, Transportation Code)
- Persons under 18 years of age may not operate a motor vehicle while using a wireless communication device, except in case of emergency. This covers more than just electronic messaging. (Section 545.424, Transportation Code)
CHILD SAFETY SEATS
- A person commits an offense if the person operates a passenger vehicle, transports a child who is younger than eight years of age, unless the child is taller than four feet, nine inches, and does not keep the child secured during the operation of the vehicle in a child passenger safety seat system according to the instructions of the manufacturer of the safety seat system. (Section 545.412, Transportation Code)
Our first High School Pep Rally will take place this Friday at 3:00 in the HS gym. White Oak Middle School students and staff will attend all High School Pep Rallies as a campus. We are looking forward to another great year of football at WOISD!
White Oak Middle School Staff and students will put on Solar Eclipse safety glasses and head to the stadium to watch the Solar Eclipse! Teachers have stressed the importance of these glasses, and we will closely monitor all students as they witness this fantastic event. We are looking forward to spending the day exploring and learning about the 2017 Solar Eclipse!
