WOMS Digital Citizens

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Helping students learn how to navigate our digital world is a priority at White Oak Middle School.  We want to ensure every student has the opportunity to learn in a safe online environment. Through Common Sense Media, our sixth, seventh and eighth graders will participate in a curriculum designed to help students learn to make safe, responsible and respectful digital decisions. Beginning September 6th, students will start completing lessons in the Digital Passport  curriculum. The lessons are designed to educate students about cyberbullying, online messages, copyright infringement and effective ways to search for information online.  Please help support our digital citizenship initiative by asking your student to share the skills he/she is learning in the Digital Passport  curriculum.

Request for a hard copy of the Progress Report/Report Card

Please monitor your child’s progress through Family Access by Skyward, Inc. Family Access is a secure Internet based website that will allow you to easily keep track of nearly everything your student(s) does while at school.  Among other things, this service allows you to view your student’s attendance, grades, schedule, progress, assignments, and emergency information. Family Access is a free service and is available to all parents/guardians with children enrolled in the district. Since you are able to access your child’s grades through Skyward and beginning with the 1st Marking period, we will no longer send home a hard copy of your child’s progress report or report card unless you request a hard copy.  If you would like a hard copy of your student(s) progress report or report card, please fill out the request form below.  Your student will automatically be logged in so you can access the request form.  If he/she does not use the Chromebook, he/she will need to log in with their (wostudent) username and password for you to access the form.
