White Oak ISD Archery

Changing Lives One Arrow at a Time

Updated Schedule 9-27-21

A brief update on all things Roughneck Archery.  We are moving our practice location to the elementary gymnasium.  This will allow for us to shoot a little more often during basketball season and avoid conflicts in the ‘old’ middle school gym.  We have made sure that the net/curtain, targets, and equipment can be safely stored in a fashion as to not interfere with other elementary PE classes and so-forth.

After school Archery will begin on Monday, October 25.  Typically, these sessions will last from 4pm-5pm.  Please note that all transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.  A tentative schedule is included below.

After school archery is open to ANY White Oak ISD student K-12 (parents are asked to stay at practice and help if their students is 3rd grade or below)…all the kids need to do is show up (WOISD has all required equipment).  Many of the students have already completed some preliminary training in PE, practice sessions last year, or attended the archery camp this summer.  Regardless, Mr. Gray will reinforce the NASP safety protocols each day and can get any ‘new’ archer up to speed in short order.

A permission form will be sent home with any student that requests one and that can be turned in when they come to their first practice. (Available in campus offices beginning Oct 1st)

While there is a competitive aspect to NASP and we support those endeavors, our main focus is providing a safe environment for our kiddos to learn about archery and hopefully develop a lifelong activity.
